Noteworthy~1

These are some of my notes from the General RS broadcast on Sept 30th 2012.  I loved the theme of each talk and how they connected together. From Sister Burton's I gathered;

Is the doctrine of Christ in our hearts?

We need to be sure we understand the doctrine of the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Our role as women is to strengthen our families, support & support our Priesthood leaders. BUT, how can we strengthen others when OUR faith is not increased?

 

Without the understanding of the eternal plan of happiness, we wont understand or have the strength we need to get through the difficulties of life.

 

She compared us to a $20 bill. A new $20 bill gets scattered about and used and worn, to the point where it will eventually be crumbled and wrinkled. Regardless of it's condition or where it's been, it is still worth the full 20 dollars. The same is for us. No matter our background, where we've been or what we do or how torn down we feel, to our Father in Heaven we are still of infinite worth! We are His daughters and He loves us and know what we are capable of.

 

The enemy(Satan) knows when to attack us, but our Savior is mighty to save us! The atonement makes it possible for us to overcome any obstacle we face. He can live in us and empower us, if we so choose. The atonement is the greatest evidence we have of the love that our Savior has for each of us. When we have the understanding of the atonement in our hearts we can become who our Heavenly Father would want us to be.
