Converted

The challenge has been given to us by our Missionaries to convert ourselves and draw nearer to Christ,  so that we can be ready to bring others closer to our Savior.  We have been asked to voluntarily dedicate our time and talents or anything we can to help build up God's Kingdom. We need to first start with converting ourselves. Making sure we fully understand the plan of salvation and eternal happiness. That we have a testimony of the gospel and the love of our Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ and his great atoning sacrifice.  We need to be sure our hearts are in the right place so that we can receive guidance and instruction through the Holy Ghost of whom we can reach out to and bring the gospel to.  There are many out there, and even around us, that are in need of this truth. I know that if we are truly focused on drawing nearer to our Savior, then we will be led to those who need this gospel.  If we pray and ask our Heavenly Father who we can help, He will answer, but we need to be ready! Now is the time.

Our family has decided to get up earlier in the morning and do our scripture reading before getting ready for school. This way we are starting our day with putting the important things first. We used to read in the evening before bed, but sometimes it would get missed due to various evening activities.  It's only been a few days now but already we have seen a difference.  We are all happier throughout the day, the kids aren't at each other as soon as they get home from school, the parent's aren't nagging the kids to get their homework done, and we don't have as much contention.  We can feel the spirit more in our home now than we had before as well.  We have also decided to do a different challenge each week that gets us involved in thinking about other people around us.  We are starting a prayer list so we can pray for those in need and know how we can best help them and be there for them. These are just a few ways that we feel will help us draw closer to our Savior.

I encourage you to sit down with your family and decide what you can do to become converted and draw closer to our Savior. And help bring the gospel to others.
